Codeshare helps us fly our Malaysian Hospitality in more places and routes! Codesharing is an agreement that allows two airlines to sell seats on each other’s flights using their own airline codes. This helps us increase the number of routes we can offer you without increasing the number of flights we operate.

When you book flights with us, you will be informed whether your flight is with Malaysia Airlines or any one of our carefully and stringently selected codeshare partners, thus ensuring that you will experience our unique brand of hospitality wherever you go!

2) How Codeshare works?

Codeshare helps us fly our Malaysian Hospitality in more places and routes! Codesharing is an agreement that allows two airlines to sell seats on each other’s flights using their own airline codes. This helps us increase the number of routes we can offer you without increasing the number of flights we operate.

How does it work? Very simple!  One airline operates the flight with its own planes, staff and flight number while the second airline offers seats on that same flight under its own flight number.

For example, if Malaysia Airlines and KLM were sharing a route from KL International Airport (KLIA) to Amsterdam, it would work as follows:

  • Malaysia Airlines operates flight MH016 from KLIA to Amsterdam.
  • KLM would market flight MH016 using its own flight number KL4102.
